God is faithful.

God has provided and will continue to provide for the financial stability of Kalamazoo Christian Schools through families, alumni, friends of the school, and other supporters. As the school grows and the world around it changes, we are challenged with the responsibility of tackling debt to ensure the future success of the school.

On the right track.

Since 2014, Kalamazoo Christian Schools have reduced the debt to 3.67 million dollars (September 2016). Through Making All Things New, we have and will continue to pay down that debt aggressively. Our goal is to raise 1.95 million dollars for debt retirement (principal and interest).

A Place to Learn.

Our 12th Street campus is beginning to feel the effects of overcrowding. Due to the creative logistic minds of our leadership team and flexibility of our teachers, the current facilities have served our student body for the past five years. However, with full incoming Kindergarten classes and projected stability in the rest of the school, this is an issue we predict will only worsen over time. The middle school addition was built to expand; and two classrooms have been designed and drawn in anticipation on the South end of the school.

A Place to Grow.

Plans for the middle school project four years ago included a second gymnasium but, due to fundraising obstacles, was never completed.  The need is still essential.  The elementary gym is simply not enough to support P-8 educational programs, sports events, chapels, and special events that take place on a regular basis.  The Making All Things New campaign gives us hope to complete what was started by building a multi-purpose gymnasium to serve middle school students and the school at large.

HIGH SCHOOL

In the wake of an extensive evaluation, the school leadership team – with the help of stakeholders – assessed the current needs of the facility and recommended a plan for improvement. That plan starts with two simple projects:

  • A New Roof over the 500 Wing
  • New classroom furniture

Estimated costs for these two projects is $200,000.

Fundraising

ANNUAL FUND/TUITION ASSISTANCE

We recognize the incredible sacrifices that families make to enroll their children at Kalamazoo Christian Schools. We hope to continue providing relief from this burden. Gifts to the Annual Fund help support families with financial need to ensure that children will receive a Christ-centered education through Kalamazoo Christian Schools. Our goal for the Making All Things New campaign is to keep our Annual Fund commitment of $400K/year.

ENDOWMENT

The Kalamazoo Christian School Foundation is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization that provides the Kalamazoo Christian schools with supplemental income for the annual operating budget, funds professional development and educational research opportunities, and provides students with several donor-advised scholarship funds. Estate and memorial gifts provide the Foundation with these resources and allow contributors to join the 1877 Bequest Society. There are currently 149 members representing 83 families. As an additional component of the Making All Things New campaign, the Kalamazoo Christian School Foundation seeks to reach 57 new bequests bringing the total number of families to 140 (representing 140 years of God’s faithfulness to the Christian Schools).
